As a Volunteer
Being a volunteer firefighter isn’t for everyone. But just because you can’t make a commitment to becoming a fully trained firefighter doesn’t mean we don’t need your help. Get in touch with your local fire hall to see how you can get involved.
As an Employer
There are plenty of benefits to employing volunteer firefighters in your community including having a team of professionals who are qualified to respond to emergency situations close by. Allowing your employees the flexibility to respond to emergency calls doesn’t mean work has to come to a grinding halt at your business, either.
Put your dedication to the Alberta Volunteer Firefighters on display with a storefront decal. Find out how.
As a Family Member
On top of the already burdensome stress of constantly training for and responding to emergency situations, volunteer firefighters take on an enormous amount of personal stress by maintaining a full-time career, keeping an open schedule – being ready to drop everything and walk out the door for an emergency – and all the other duties expected of a son, daughter, parent or spouse. Sometimes it’s the little things that keeps them going, like having a hot meal ready to eat when they are, having supportive family members who understand the stress they’re under, or a spouse who cares enough to volunteer at the local fire hall.
